Packrafting Retreat Week - Grade II/III

- Kesto: 6 Päivät (noin)
- Tuotekoodi: Retreat II/III
Discover the best of New Zealand packrafting with our six-day Packrafting Retreat Week – Grade 2–3. Designed for paddlers ready to move beyond the basics, this week combines scenic river journeys, skill development, and a relaxed small-group atmosphere in the heart of the Southern Alps.
We’ve curated a progression of rivers that build confidence and technique each day—culminating in an overnight expedition on the iconic lower Landsborough River. Along the way, you’ll explore some of the South Island’s most spectacular valleys, hike through remote beech forests, and paddle everything from playful grade 2 runs to exciting grade 3 whitewater.
The week blends learning, exploration, and connection. You’ll refine your rescue skills, practice group coordination, and experience the magic of moving through wild places with a crew of like-minded adventurers. Our guides bring deep local knowledge, professional instruction, and a genuine love for sharing New Zealand’s rivers.
Each day has a clear purpose: to develop your ability, strengthen your confidence, and deepen your understanding of whitewater. The itinerary includes classic rivers such as the Matukituki, Rees, and Roaring Meg before leading into our final hike-in, paddle-out mission through the Landsborough Valley—one of the country’s most stunning backcountry experiences.
Between rivers, we take time to rest and enjoy Queenstown’s legendary hospitality. Think great food, local wine, and time to recharge before heading back into the wild.
This trip is ideal for packrafters with some experience (such as Packrafting 101 graduates or self-taught paddlers comfortable on grade 2 water) who want to consolidate their skills, gain multi-day experience, and discover new rivers without the hassle of logistics.
All transport, river food, and land access fees are included, along with full pre-trip support, packing guidance, and a group Zoom call before departure.
It’s more than just a course—it’s a journey through the best of New Zealand backcountry packrafting. You’ll finish with stronger paddling skills, a network of new friends, and memories that will last long after you’ve hung your paddle to dry.
Minimum group size: 2 people.
Fitness level: Moderate. You’ll need to be comfortable hiking with your pack and raft for several hours on uneven terrain.
Previous experience: Some packrafting or whitewater experience required (not suitable for complete beginners).
